About the Founder

JC OBrien is a lifelong car enthusiast who first learned to work on vehicles at a Kansas salvage yard, restoring old cars when they were the only thing he could afford. He paid his way through college by flipping cars and working in the trades, eventually earning a bachelor's degree in Physics from Trinity College in Hartford, where he served as a two-time team captain for the collegiate wrestling team.

Over the years, JC gained hands-on experience in construction management, real estate development, and technical roles within the pharmaceutical industry. He later pursued a long-standing goal of military service, commissioning through Officer Candidate School and currently serving as a Short Range Air Defense Officer at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

JC founded ShiftHaus to preserve the trades and make sure his generation can become small business owners. His mission is to keep skilled businesses in local hands and provide his peers with a new mission: owning and operating trades-based businesses in their own communities.
